During the Spring Meeting, nine AIChE YPs turned out to clean up the Harrisburg Sunset Trail. This five-mile trail is used by Houston locals for biking and walking. The Harrisburg-Sunset Trail is a "Rails to Trails" project providing safe and healthy transportation between downtown and East Houston. The AIChE project was also part of the Keep Houston Beautiful initiative. It was a beautifully sunny day in Houston, the volunteers had a great time, and the City of Houston truly appreciated the outreach effort. AIChE YP Advisory Board aims to include service in future conferences to demonstrate AIChE's dedication to the communities and environment in which we live and operate.
