2012 Annual Meeting YPC/SIOC Social Event

By: Kara Curran On Sunday, October 28, from 8 pm to 11 pm, the Young Professionals Committee (YPC) and the Societal Impact Operating Council (SIOC) will be sponsoring a social event for both YPC and SIOC groups. This will be an opportunity for networking between the YPAB and SIOC members and provide an opportunity for YPC members to learn about the SIOC committees and their initiatives, such as the K-12 initiative and the Global Outreach Committee. The event will be held at The Library, a local pub in South Side of Pittsburgh. According to the reviews, The Library is, "perfect for group happy hours, dinner with friends, dates, or just for drinks during a bar crawl." Furthermore, it is said to be, "One of the best happy hour and late night special places in Pittsburgh." I encourage you to come out and see the venue for yourself! For each attendee, there will be free drinks from the bar and plenty of appetizers to munch on through the night. If you are worried about transportation, no stress! There will be shuttles available that will transport you back and forth from the Library and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Specific times to be determined prior to the event, so please keep an ear out for further details. We hope to see you there! Each Young Professional can preregister for this event on their conference registration form online or onsite in Pittsburgh.
