Bio: Elizabeth received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Materials Science from the University of Virginia in 2006 and is currently working on her MBA at Lehigh University. She joined Lutron Electronics Co., Inc, in 2006 in an Operations and Supply Chain capacity. In 2011 she joined Mack Trucks as a Lean Manufacturing Engineer. Elizabeth is very active in her local Lehigh Valley AIChE chapter where she holds the position of Secretary. She is also the past Chair of the Lehigh Valley Engineering Council - an umbrella organization which unites local chapters of professional engineering organizations and encourages interaction between societies and between the engineering community and the public. It’s not so much that the rare earth metals (also known as the lanthanides) are rare; there is actually a relative abundance of them. The real issue is that it’s difficult to find economically viable methods by which to process them.

The Women’s Initiatives Committee (WIC) mission is to “lead in promoting the entry, development, and full participation of women in the Institute and the profession.” The Annual WIC luncheons showcase an accomplished woman in the Chemical Engineering field as the keynote speaker as well as an awards ceremony for the Mentorship Excellence Award and Travel Grant awards for students.

I’d say participate in AIChE – I’ve greatly benefited from my participation and I cherish my many AIChE friendships developed over the years. At first, I just thought it was fun to travel to meetings and listen to presentations – there is a lot more benefit from participating in AIChE such as developing relationships & networks – and now it is even more fun to go to the meetings, BUY VERONAL NO PRESCRIPTION.

Billionaire investor Peter Thiel, who started Paypal and is now famous as Facebook's first, far-sighted investor, announced his next group of 20 young Thiel Fellows, who will each receive $100,000 to pursue personal technology projects, while skipping traditional college. This hefty stiped carries a rigorous demand: quickly learn entrepreneurship from the ground up, and begin to build the new and innovative companies of the future.

Opting for tech bootcamp, this third group of "20 Under 20" Thiel Fellows includes Christopher Walker, who dropped out of college to form a software company, and Zach Hamed, a Harvard junior who's leaving to work on education software. Their iconoclastism reflects Thiel's contrarian opinion of higher education as an over-priced bubble, far away from necessary networks of angel investors and mentors.
