Robert Langer – Father of Invention: Science Friday Interview
By Margot Berger | Comments (0)
What makes a great engineering professor? Some may say it is the number of patents one has, or the number of start-up companies one has helped create in order for their work to be produced. Dr. Robert Langer, Institute Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and AIChE Member
says that his students are what make him great.
Dozens of his students have gone on to work and hold positions of leadership within colleges, universities and labs, while other students have come back to work at the great institute that helped mold them into the great engineers they have now become. Langer and his team have collaborated and created over 800 patents, ranging from tumor zapping nano-particles, synthetic spinal cords and even anti-frizz serum for hair.
