Describe a recent challenge you managed, notable achievement, or obstacle you overcame at your job or in your work as an AIChE member.

At BASF, I am a lead member in their employee resource group called ALLchemie at my home office in NJ. It is an LGBT and allies group designed to promote a diverse and inclusive work environment. I lead our most popular and annual Pride Event by giving a safety moment, introducing the event and the speakers, and acting as the host. This was a challenge for me because it was the first time I had been in that role for that large of an audience. And it was webcasted! I was nervous going into it but then realized the importance of being confident and finished the event cool and feeling accomplished.

What do you do to meet people in your field?

There are several ways to meet people in my field of product management: through internal and external networking events, introductions through colleagues and friends, and talking to my counterparts in AIChE.
