Lisa Houston is the director of applications engineering at PAC, LP, a manufacturer of advanced analytical instruments for laboratories and online process applications. In her audio interview, she shares the story of her career and how it began, pointing out that taking the road less traveled can lead to the most rewarding places.

Houston received a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of North Texas. Despite plans to attend graduate school, a summer job turned into a 7-year stint as a research chemist at

ARCO Oil and Gas, leading her down a rewarding career path. Over the last 25 years Houston has gained experience in industry and through volunteering with organizations like the American Chemical Society and the American Society for Testing and Materials.
