YP ChEnectees of AIChE Spring – Meet Alexander Navarrete

Welcome to our forth interview in the YP ChEnectees of AIChE Spring 2010 series. AIChE is an organization that is headquartered in the U.S. but also one that reaches many different parts of the world. During the first day of AIChE's Spring meeting in San Antonio, I caught up with a YP member from Colombia. Alexander Navarrete, or "Alex" as his friends call him, is a chemical engineer and in the process of doing his Ph.D at the University of Valladolid in Spain. His area is Process Intensification. He's new to AIChE and just started his membership the day the AIChE 2010 Spring Meeting began. He was motivated to become a chemical engineer because of his keen interest in understanding how products are made. Also, he feels that chemical engineers are important influencers with respect to sustainability issues and today's environment.
