So here are 8 reasons to include AIChE-DECHEMA on your summer schedule:
1. ESPI is Balanced and Diverse
AIChE-DECHEMA will create a balanced review of an important topic (energy efficiency across a number of different process industries--using process in the broadest sense). There will be a good mix of academics and industry participants--not all R&D and not all applied case studies, but a mix of both.
2. Focusing on Multiple Industries and Points of View
By touching on a number of industries--chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals, electronics, automotive--we are hoping that attendees can get view points and useful information that they might not easily pick up if they stayed within a more narrowly focused conference.
3. Have Questions Answered and Share Your Opinions
The ESPI conference format will promote interaction--speakers are expected to stay around--with lots of contact time at breakfast, coffee/tea breaks, reception, lunch, and banquet opportunities (and indeed even a common hotel where many participants will stay and can continue to dialog and exchange information).
4. We'll Recap It for You
The conference leadership intends to prepare an overall conference summary based not only on the oral presentations but also on speaker/conference attendee discussions and the closing panel/discussion session. It is our intent to circulate a draft to all registered attendees with an invitation for comment prior to preparation of an Official Conference Summary, which will then be distributed to appropriate AIChE and DECHEMA governance bodies for adoption and dissemination.
5. International Presenters in an International Location

ESPI presenters include academic, industry, and government experts from China, Denmark, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and the U.S. Hong Kong is also attractive and exciting for those from abroad, and there are several open nights for you to explore it. For short stays (as tourists) visas are either not required or are available directly at the airport. 6. Poster Sessions Throughout
We will have a poster session running throughout the conference, which will be ideal for both industry and academia, and especially attractive to students.
7. A Great Value
ESPI is taking place at the 4-star Royal Pacific Hotel and Towers at a very attractive rate of only $127(US)/night (i.e., total price) with free transportation to/from conference venue. The conference rate includes program book and a lot of food (morning breakfast, daily lunch, opening reception and conference banquet). The rate is good for June 3-8 inclusive but may well be extended if one applies directly to the hotel (Royal Pacific Hotel and Towers).
8. Reduced rates for AIChE and DECHEMA members
And if you register before May 2, you can take advantage of early-bird rates.
In addition, our Call for Papers is still open to receive poster proposals, but only from conference attendees (or those intending to attend). These should be submitted to Dr. Thomas Dietrich, Conference Co-Chair.
