I just observed something, many vacancies that involve plant operation and maintenance such as plant manager, plant maintenance engineer, production manager, production Engineer, etc in many manufacturing companies always demand the services of mechanical or electrical Engineers in the roles instead of Chemical Engineers. Why is this change of trend? I was meant to understand through studies that Chemical Engineers play numerous roles in the manufacturing companies but in practice the reverse is the case. This forces me to want to know the functions of Chemical Engineers in the manufacturing companies after designing and probably involved in construction of plant. Thank you.
