The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) celebrates its 2025 class of 131 FOSSI scholars! Since its inception, FOSSI has awarded over 860 exceptional high-school seniors $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 per year) to pursue preferred STEM degrees at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Christopher Baskin: 2025 FOSSI scholar attending North Carolina A&T State University

Christopher Baskin is from High Point, North Carolina, and is a chemical engineering student at North Carolina A&T State University. With a long-standing interest in math and science, Christopher has been drawn to STEM for as long as he can remember.
He is equally passionate about giving back, with a strong commitment to volunteering and supporting others in his community. Receiving the FOSSI scholarship brought both relief and gratitude, easing the financial burden of college and reaffirming his path forward. Looking ahead, Christopher hopes to make meaningful contributions at a thriving company while continuing to serve and uplift his community.
Logan Crawford: 2025 FOSSI scholar attending Prairie View A&M University

Logan Crawford is from Houston, Texas, and is a chemical engineering major at Prairie View A&M University. A driven and resilient student, Logan’s academic journey has been shaped by rigorous coursework, including dual credit classes and AP Chemistry, which strengthened her discipline, time management, and perseverance.
Inspired by the science behind cosmetics, she discovered her passion for STEM after learning how chemistry plays a critical role in product formulation and innovation. Logan hopes to pursue a career in the oil and gas or cosmetics industry and ultimately create her own skincare line designed for people with eczema, blending technical expertise with empathy and impact.
Jada Dyer: 2025 FOSSI scholar attending Tuskegee University

Jada Camille Dyer is from Wilberforce, Ohio, and is a chemical engineering student at Tuskegee University. A hardworking graduate of Xenia High School, Jada maintained a 3.81 cumulative GPA while staying actively involved in her church, civic, and community activities. During high school, she participated year-round in cheer, basketball, volleyball, and track and was selected for Buckeye Girls State in Ohio, where she was one of only two students chosen from her county.
Her passion for STEM began early through hands-on science programs and chemistry labs, and she has since supported initiatives focused on agriculture, health, and environmental stewardship. Receiving the FOSSI scholarship provided both financial relief and powerful validation of her hard work. Jada aspires to make impactful advancements in agriculture, medicine, and healthcare through technology and innovation.
Malik Savage: 2025 FOSSI scholar attending North Carolina A&T State University

Malik Savage is from Murphy, Texas, and is an electrical engineering major at North Carolina A&T State University. An honors graduate of Wylie High School, Malik explored STEM through debates, robotics, summer programs, and independent projects, including developing a sports graphical user interface and building an Iron Man helmet using 3D printing and programming.
His passion for technology and service is reflected in his community involvement, mentoring, and volunteer work. Receiving the FOSSI scholarship affirmed Malik’s dedication to STEM and opened doors to future opportunities in leadership, internships, and innovation. He hopes to use his technical skills to benefit humanity and inspire future generations to pursue STEM.
