Join Us in Houston for the 2026 AIChE Spring Meeting & 22nd GCPS

Chemical engineers have always turned ideas into impact—a new production process, a safer plant, a cleaner energy source. Progress like this happens when smart, committed people connect, challenge one another, and build on each other's work. That's exactly what the AIChE Spring Meeting is designed to make possible.

Where chemical engineers get together

This April, I'm looking forward to being in Houston with thousands of members of our community for the 2026 AIChE Spring Meeting and 22nd Global Congress on Process Safety, April 12–16 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Being in Houston, a vibrant hub of manufacturing facilities, reminds me how strong and engaged this profession truly is. It's a place where practicing engineers come together to share what works, what doesn’t, and what comes next.

The program begins Sunday evening with a reception, and I'd encourage you not to skip it. Some of the most valuable conversations I've had at AIChE events have happened in these informal moments before the formal program even begins.

On Monday morning, we'll hear from Steven Prusak, President and CEO of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, in the AGILE Award Keynote Address. Steven has been an AIChE member for over three decades. His commitment to developing the next generation of chemical engineers is the kind of leadership I'm proud to celebrate on behalf of our community.

Exceptional technical programming

The technical programming is exceptional this year, spanning over a dozen topical conferences from refinery processing and gas utilization to the Energy Transition Topical Conference. And the Global Congress on Process Safety carries special weight in 2026, as we mark the 60th anniversary of the Loss Prevention Symposium. For sixty years, this community has chosen to share what it knows, including the hard lessons, so others don't have to learn them the same way. That culture of openness and accountability is one of the things I admire most about this profession.

I'll also be at the Case Histories and Lessons Learned session on Wednesday. If you've never attended, I'd strongly encourage you to go. It's one of the most grounded, useful conversations we have all year.

The Spring Meeting is AIChE at its best. A global community, in one place, advancing safe and responsible practice and equipping each other to meet the challenges ahead. I hope to see you there.
