Bennett Marshall
Ben earned his BS degree in Chemical Engineering and Master of Science (Physics) from Auburn University, and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. In 2014, Ben joined the thermodynamics group in ExxonMobil Research and Engineering. In 2017, Ben was promoted to group lead of the thermodynamics group. In 2019, Ben was transferred to the Separations Sciences group in Corporate Strategic Research (CSR) located in Clinton, NJ. During his time in CSR, Ben worked on membrane fundamentals as well as gas adsorption fundamentals and process conceptualization, with a main focus on carbon capture processes. In 2024, he began his current role as Principal Scientist for process separations development, where he works on early stage process conceptualization and development of carbon capture processes including direct air capture.
Throughout his career, Ben has been active in academic scientific research and has coauthored 65+ peer reviewed articles. He was named an Emerging Leader 2018 by The Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter as well as invited to contribute to the AIChE Journal Futures Issue in 2019. Ben is an inventor on 10+ US patents.
