Built on 24 known data sets, the first genome-scale model for predicting the functions of genes and gene networks in a grass species, called RiceNet, is expected to help speed the development of new advanced biofuels from Miscanthus and switchgrass.

Ted Talks presents Erica Frenkel, a program officer at UAM Global, the company that offers a cost-effective scaleable solution for putting anesthesia machines that works in rugged environments often associated with developing countries. The machine is in 13 hospitals and 4 countries and new partnerships with NGOs will likely increase that number. Watch the video

The Career and Education Operating Council (CEOC) focuses on the educational, professional, and financial needs of AIChE members and stakeholders. Essentially it touches all AIChE members in some capacity.
